Even though this is completely irrelevant to most likely a finished narrative i found two YouTube videos that have Steven Moffat obsessed with illustrating how Sherlock and Irene are each other’s sexuality exceptions. So if she’s gay and he’s asexual they still want each other in that way. The last video was last year. So as a “still want more episodes” party of one I’d still give him the benefit of the doubt when it comes to their dynamic. Willing to resend this if there is more and I’m tragically devastated :)
I also love the comment about how the character [Sherlock] is ‘keeping secrets’ from them. Like you know what the implication there is… ;)
(Whereas BC is like, “Oh no, I know exactly what happened, and I’m not afraid to tell everybody.”)
[responding to positive feedback on writing] thank you! i had a lot of fun with this one :-) [<- guy who was absolutely tortured during the creative process]
(never feel bad about doing this whether it’s to deepen the character, have fun, or build interesting headcanons! Even shit about what their favorite type of jelly bean is makes them feel more complex to you and that’s fun! GO NUTS!)
I started to translate my ficlet ‘Near’ from Russian to English.
It’s more interesting than I thought even more interesting than translate English into Russian.
Sadly few months ago I realised that don’t like to translate fics because I always want to add something from myself into text and then feel bad about it. But with English my brain works better because it’s obviously harder and makes me remember about my University days.
So there’re few paragraphs:
…the more complicated becoming their missions, the more interesting the tasks, the more successfully they cope with them, the more courageous The Woman becomes. More desperate, more reckless.
Literally, when he enters the door, she climbs out the window without any fear. He tries to talk to the villain and quietly knock out his gun, she, without warning, confidently hits him in solar plexus. Sherlock himself wouldn’t take the risk in some situations. But she does it easily. But it’s worth saying, Irene Adler is like a cat. Jumping from the highest height she easily lands on all her paws, and always returns from the most dangerous adventures alive, unharmed, and also more pleased with herself than usual. There is something else in these situations as well. Sherlock always feels a special kind of danger, being next to Irene. Sometimes it’s pleasant but sometimes he literally feels how life and death walk nearby, whispering to their ears. But The Woman seems always be able to make deal with the Death.
Adlock will live forever ❤️
Francesca, thank you for reposting this. Full translation is already on ao3:

The real life house of Irene Adler 😍 It turns out that they filmed her flat in London (44 Eaton Square) in 2 locations, and one of them is this house.
I’ve never seen these photos before. People who lived in the house kept Irene’s famous black wallpaper and the bathroom looks completely the same. The living room looks darker and different now, the decorators used very light colors here and glamour details like floor lamp with chrystal beads. But it’s so cool to see the whole picture now. And yes, £1.4m back in 2020. So her!
Also one of the ‘Doctor Who’ episode was filmed here (that staircase!) The House is soo big, so British. I’m in love.
It’s important to recognise that Barbie (2023) criticises both the patriarchy AND the matriarchy. Yes, the Ken’s are just accessories to the Barbies. Yes, they don’t have any say in the government they live under. That’s the point, you’re supposed to feel awful, you’re supposed to want the Kens to have their own agency, you’re supposed to want equality. The Barbie movie explicitly states that the way Barbie treats Ken is wrong, so much so that once he finds a safe space for his masculinity and individual identity he’s so excited to share it with the other Kens.
But they go overboard and replace a matriarchy with a patriarchy and now the same issue exists but in reverse. That’s the POINT!! THATS THE POINT!!! Barbie is not anti-men it’s pro equality PLEASE understand this
The Barbie Movie is the movie of all time for many reasons, but the core message being “Perfoming gender roles hurts everyone, you should be your authentic self no matter what society says” really knocked it out of the park
Hey guys! Adlockers! Okay I just want to start with mentioning the fact that sometimes, even years later we still find tiny things in ASiB. And we’ll, I just found one.
When I was looking through my saved adlock things on my phone I looked at that this gif and found something interesting. The thing is that when Irene goes to look at her phone to see who texted her she looks irritated/annoyed, almost angry, but the moment she sees who wrote her she calms down and maybe gets shocked (?). You can see it in the way how she moves her lips. At first they are kind of tensed, then, after seeing who texted her, they sort of stop and become smaller.
I think that the reason she became so frustrated was because she assumed someone whom she didn’t like(maybe Moriarty) texted her. But all of these thoughts went away when she realised she got homeboy’s attention.
